NOPE—IT’S FOR GEEZERS!
Besides our new Android & Apple apps due out any day now, we’re piling on the social media bandwagon. Well, not ALL the way, that would take touching the Facebook flame, which we’ll avoid like some bad tuna. However, we’ll be pushing out the blog posts from this website to our Tittwer army. What’s that? You say it’s Twitter? Ok then. You can now follow the Jive tweets @jive_radio —direct from Jive HQ where we have a whole different interpretation of the term “hashtag”.
Our old iOS and Android apps have expired. We need make room for the new app. The Android version is due out (in the Google Play Store) in a day or so. The iOS/Apple version may be in the (Apple) store by Friday, but probably early next week at the rate it’s going.
Sorry for the trouble. In the meantime, our trusty web player over there on the right of this page should work just fine.

Sooo…a young couple was traveling thru central Oregon a few months ago, in parts around the Ochoco mountains, and caught the Jive on 96.5. They were somewhat transfixed listening while camping. When they got home, “Lissie” wrote to tell us how much they loved the Jive and that they are getting married in a ‘pop-up wedding’ ceremony in a park in New Orleans and would the Jive consider playing something for them.
Fast forward to this week; “Lissie & Jesse” are set to get married THIS Saturday, 3pm our time [ceremony actually starts at 4:30pm New Orleans time]. We have some requests from them and we will do a little voice work saying ‘Hey!’ to their moms and play a little Jive for them. We’ll squeeze it in between hrs 1&2 of the Hoot and repeat after Di’s show at what will be 6:30ish (PST).
As Dondo will say in his opener, let’s lift a glass to the sweet young tykes and wish them a long fun trip into wedded bliss. MAY ALL THE GODS BLESS THEIR PATH.

so we know that song and artist identification can be very important at times, especially when you hear a good one on JR. for those of you who listen online, Klappy is in charge of i.d., and most of the time, the ole boy does a fine job (Klappy is the little smiling radio you see on the right side of the home page). but sometimes, the Klapster gets hit with a digital speed bump of some sort, and he goes down for a while. we will get him back on the job ASAP, so that you can easily check song title and artist. BUT…..this is also a good time to remind you, as we like to do occasionally, that the free app called SHAZAM kicks total ass on this identification front, and we highly recommend it to all Jive Radio listeners who give a poop about song/artist i.d. SHAZAM is at any app store, downloads very quickly, is free, and it works MOST of the time. you just hold the phone up to the speaker, and within a few seconds, SHAZAM will tell you Song Title, Artist, and maybe more, like a pic of the album cover. SO IT’S VERY HELPFUL. especially for us, with our streamlined automated 21st century approach to broadcasting (read LOW BUDGET)…..SHAZAM covers for us A LOT. and is really a great accessory and aid to your enriched enjoyment of the musical Shangri-La that is…….JR!
